Description: Tan, brown, or green base color with three dark stripes that run along the dorsal. The stripes can occasionally be broken or spotted. A dark eye stripe that runs from the snout, through the eye, and to the groin area. The toepads are small 

Call: An extremely loud “Cree-ee-eek” commonly described as running a thumbnail down the teeth of a comb. The vocal sac is round.

Size: A small-sized frog averaging 1 inch in length. 

Range and Habitat: This frog occurs from Northern Utah through the central spine of the state to Southern Utah and through the Uinta Mountains. It inhabits shallow ponds, lakes, marshes, and flooded meadows and fields often from snow melt or rain. It can be found from about 4,000 feet to over 10,000 feet in elevation. 

Similar Species: The Baja California Treefrog has a distinct dark eye stripe that does not extend beyond the shoulder area and has prominent toepads.
