Mediterranean House Gecko

Description: Tan, brown, cream, gray, or pinkish base color with irregular brown spots on the dorsal. Large bumpy tubercles along the body, most prominent on the upper sides. Large eyes with vertical pupils that are lacking eyelids. Small toe pads. This gecko is nocturnal and coloration can change from day to night with darker coloration being common during the day.
Size: A small-sized gecko averaging 4 to 5 inches in total length.
Range and Habitat: This non-native species has become established in Washington County. It typically inhabits urban areas where it is commonly found on the walls of houses and buildings, and in sprinkler boxes.
Similar Species: The Utah Banded Gecko has eyelids. It lacks toe pads and bumpy tubercles.
