Description: A patternless, vibrant green snake with smooth scales. The ventral is also patternless and is white, cream, or yellow in color.

Size: A small-bodied snake averaging about 18 inches in length.

Range and Habitat: This snake occurs through the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains. Disjunct populations occur in the La Sal and Abajo Mountains. They are commonly associated with mountain meadows and riparian habitats; however, they can also be found in dry forests and shrublands. Found from about 6,000 feet to over 8,500 feet in elevation.

Similar Species: This snake’s color can fade in death making it appear gray or blue. When this occurs, it can be hard to distinguish from the Western Yellow-bellied Racer.
